Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital

Thousand Oaks, California

Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital (TOSH) provides care for approximately 126,000 residents in the city of Thousand Oaks, California. The 50,000 square-foot hospital has 20 surgical beds and seven operating rooms.

Owned jointly by 45 local physicians and Health, Inc., the hospital offers a nurturing environment where patients, employees, and physicians are treated as valued guests. It was designed to offer advanced surgical care along with all of the amenities of a high-end hotel.

Thousand Oaks city planners require all commercial buildings, including the hospital, to be designed in a California Mediterranean style, a theme that the design team carried throughout the interior of the facility. The project’s architects and design team selected Nemschoff furniture for a variety of reasons, including style and quality.

Nemschoff Presidio lounge seating and junior furniture can be found throughout the TOSH lobby. “The Nemschoff products in our lobby help to solidify the tranquil and inviting atmosphere that we had originally envisioned; Nemschoff helped us make that vision a reality,” said Kelly Terrell, Director of Human Resources. “The Nemschoff Lifetime Warranty was also tremendously important to our project staff as it gave further evidence of the confidence that Nemschoff has in their products,” she added.

In addition to the furniture in the front lobby, Nemschoff Bedford headboards and footboards are used in all 21 of the patient rooms. Pristo recliners and Torii plus seating were selected for the treatment areas.

”The Nemschoff team was incredibly easy to work with. Their products are beautiful, and their enthusiasm and expertise helped make our project not only fun, but also incredibly successful,” said Carol Freeman, Hospital Administrator.
